Aim: to evaluate arterial wall rigidity, clinical condition and prognosis in active and standard therapy of patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Materials and methods. A total of 211 patients with CHF experienced Q-wave myocardial infarction was enrolled in the study. At admission to the hospital all patients were randomized into two groups. Patients of the first group (n=106) were managed actively after discharge from the hospital, patients of the second group (n=105) were managed conventionally after discharge from the hospital. Patients were observed for three years. Re-sults. Over three year-investigation actively managed patients demonstrated significant (p

Goal: to investigate angiographic and clinical efficacy of percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) on chronic total coronary occlusions (СТО) in patients with angina of low functional classes (FC) in direct and long-term period, comparatively to conservative medical treatment. Materials: 56 patients with СТО were included. Standard medical treatment was provided to all of them, everybody suffered angina FC 1-2. Left ventricle ejection fraction (LV EF) was 54±3%. 36 patients of group I underwent PCI of СТО 20 patients of group II were given conservative medical treatment. The follow-up period was 12 months. Results. In 30 patients of group I 36 attempts of PCI were angiographically and clinically successful -the absence of anginal symptoms and objective signs of myocardial ischemia. In the long-term period 21 patients of 30 had clinical success. LV EF increased to 57±4%. Long-term clinical success had 17 patients of group II, 5 patients had the decrement of angina FC by 1, 12 had initial clinical results. LV EFaccountes53,9±2,4%. There was no difference in the frequency of major adverse cardiac events between the groups. Conclusions: PCI of СТО in patients with angina of low FC improves clinical status in direct and long-term period. When isolated, angiographically unfavorable form of СТО is diagnosed, conservative treatment with effective medication in case of angina of low FC is used

Aim. We have carried out a research aiming to study the relations of quantitative and qualitative parameters of blood cells in patients with massive blood loss. Material and methods. We have analyzed 93 patients with severe blood loss due to hemorrhage from upper parts of gastrointestinal tract. We have assessed the number of blood cells and the number of anisocytes, poekilocytes and reticulocytesaswell as criteria of effectiveness of treatment and outcomes. Re-sults. Parallel to the decrease of erythrocyte-leukocyte ratio and the increase of the amount of defective erythrocytes, the number of infectious complications increases. Conclusion. The character of typical reaction of system of blood to the acute blood loss manifesing by interrelated changes of erythrocyte-leukocyte ratio and quantitative parameters of red blood cells may affect the effectiveness of treatment

Aim. The aim of the study is the improvement of assessment of intoxication in these patients by defining the relationship between mutual proportions of blood cells and the outcome of treatment. Materials and methods. We have performed an analysis of 80 cases of peritonitis, having studied their count of blood cells and the degree of autointoxication and the outcomes. Results. The most effective technique of assessment is use of the formula (Er>

The aim of the study was to improve management of the postoperative period in patients with genital prolapse after surgery. Methods. Survey of 57 patients, which, depending on the characteristics of the postoperative period were divided into 2 groups: 22 patients received conventional treatment methods vagina seams, in complex treatment of 35 patients was included depantol. The effectiveness of inclusion depantol was control by clinical and laboratory (analysis of blood, vaginal discharge) evidence. Results. Clinical and laboratory evidence of the effectiveness of inclusion depantol, which has antiseptic and stimulating regenerative processes, in the complex of therapeutic measures, reflected in the absence of infectious complications in patients of the main group and reducing lengths of stay in hospital. Conclusions. A higher efficiency of the new method is proved

Purpose: to study efficiency of various methods of prevention of perinatal complications in mother and child. Material and methods. In three risk groups preventive treatment of intrauterine infected fetus (IUIF), gestosis, noncarrying of pregnancy and fetoplacental insufficiency has been carried out. In group I consisted of 71 pregnant women preventive treatment has included medication with application of antioxidants; stimulators of processes of carboxylation in cycle Krebs; endogenic synthesis prostaglandins, prostacyclin; drugs improving processes of microcirculation, stabilizing function of endothelium ofvessels, an exchange of homocysteine. In group II consisted of 67 pregnant women prevention of IUIF and complications has been carried out by means of physical exercises in combination with aqua aerobics. In group III consisted of 100 women prevention of IUIF has been standard. In the control group IV consisted of 70 women pregnancy has not been complicated. Parameters of oxidant and antioxidant systems, central hemodynamics, determined in this group have been determined as normal for comparison. Results. In relation to group III medicamen-tous treatment in group I, regular aqua aerobics in group II have allowed to lower frequency of IUIF, perinatal mother complications, perinatal diseases, death rates in newborns and morbidity in children of early age. Conclusion. For the prevention of IUIF, mother and child perinatal complications, morbidity in children of early age it has been proposed to use medication and regular aqua aerobics which provides nonmedicamentous pregnancy course

The purpose of research was studying of cytoprotective effect of cytoflavinum at a thermal trauma of different severity level. Materials and methods. 169 patients with thermal burns with a favorable outcome and gravity of a thermal trauma from 30 to 170 points on Franc were under research. 28 patients took standard dosage of cytoflavinum while complex therapy. Results. Patients with thermal trauma more than 60 points on Franc took Cytoflavinumuse and demonstrated decrease in intensity of system inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), reduction of band neutrophils portion, lowering of erythrocyte number, smaller activation ofthrombocytopoiesis, dicrease of concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor. Positive effect was not revealed in group of patients with thermal trauma less than 60 points who received cytoflavinum. Conclusion. Use of cytoflavinum was the most effective at thermal trauma gravity more than 60 points on Franc

Organization: Volgograd State Medical University
The research goal is to study the actual problem of self-medication. The Association of the European Self-Medication Industry (AESGP) considers the term «responsible self-medication». The key characteristic is that the patients are responsible for their health. The article presents cases of self-medication thoroughly analyzed in Volgograd Regional Centre of Drug Safety Monitoring. Some of them may be considered as unfavourable and even lethal. Therefore it should be mentioned that there is one more benefit of rational pharmacotherapy with priority of prescriptions made by doctors. Medical professionals can estimate potential pharmacological risk with individual pharmacokinetic and phar-macodynamic features, allergic anamnesis and carry out monitoring of pharmacotherapy
