The article is devoted characteristics current of Parkinson’s disease with chronic cerebral ischemia. Objective: to study the clinical presentation and features of PD against cerebral ischemia. Methods. A total of 44 patients with a diagnosis of “Parkinson’s disease”, 20 of which were determined by accurate clinical and instrumental signs of chronic cerebral ischemia. Comparative characteristics of the neurological status, cognitive functions, some laboratory and instrumental data in the two groups of patients: Parkinson’s disease with a background of chronic ischemia of the brain and without it. Results. Statistically signifcant differences between groups are observed on the following variables: duration of illness, severity of depression, the concentration of glucose in the blood. Formed groups of signifcant difference in the severity of atherosclerosis of cerebral vessels. Conclusion. The data of the acceleration of the progression of Parkinson’s disease with chronic cerebral ischemia, as well as the more frequent occurrence of depression in this patient group.

Summary:

Aim of the study: to identify the features of neuropsychological and neuroimaging status in patients with Graves’ disease. Materials and methods. The study is based on the analysis of the results of neurological, neuropsychological and neuroimaging studies in 53 patients with diffuse toxic goiter with the experience of the disease is not more than 5 years. Results. Found that patients with diffuse toxic goiter in the early stages of the disease there are changes in neu-ropsychological and neuroimaging status, which indicates the feasibility study of this category of patients for a neurologist appointment of appropriate therapy. Conclusion. The study evaluated the neuroimaging and neuropsychological status of patients with Graves’ disease. The goal set in the study achieved.

Assessment level of anxiety and depression in patients with multiple sclerosis

Year: 2012, volume 8 Issue: №2 Pages: 484-488

Summary:

In patients with multiple sclerosis observed polymorphism of the emergency psychiatric disorders with a wide range of psychopathological phenomena — from neurotic and personality disorders to psychotic states and epileptiform syndrome. However, the problems of mental health problems in people with MS for a long time little attention was paid. The aim of our study was to analyze the level of anxiety and depression severity in patients with multiple sclerosis. According to this objective have been identifed objectives of the study: to determine the level of depression and anxiety in MS patients according to sex, age, course, duration of disease. For our work was selected group of patients with documented diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, Charles Poser criteria, consisting of 79 persons, with a disease duration of more than 2 years. We used a specially designed questionnaire, which included a table to assess complaints, anamnesis, the neurological status of the patient, and standard questionnaires (test anxiety, Taylor Depression Scale Research psychoneurology them. Spondylitis, the index of overall psychological well-being). The study found that mood disorders such as anxiety, depression, often occurs in patients with multiple sclerosis. However, they are expressed in groups of patients receiving and not receiving DMD, in many ways. Thus, it should be recommended  Vat practical neurologists in the treatment of multiple sclerosis patients to pay attention to whether or not they have a certain range of mental disorders, and above all, anxious-depressive syndrome, which is in need of medical and non-pharmacological correction.

Summary:

Purpose: correction of violations in the trigeminal nerve in patients with chronic generalized periodontitis. Material and methods. A clinical examination and study of the functional activity of the trigeminal nerve in 160 patients with chronic generalized periodontitis. Results. Revealed the presence of various degrees of violations of the functional activity of the trigeminal nerve depending on the severity of the pathological process in periodontal tissues. Conclusion.Neuroprotective therapy in the treatment of patients with periodontal disease leads to normalization of the neurophysi-ology of the trigeminal nerve and promotes more rapid relief of the infammatory process in periodontal tissues.

Back pain: gender features

Year: 2012, volume 8 Issue: №2 Pages: 477-481
Heading: Neurology Article type: Original article
Authors: Kurushina O.V., Barulin A.E.
Organization: Volgograd State Medical University
Summary:

The goal of the research is to study features of a back pain syndrome and its medicalization at men and women. There were 217 patients with a back pain being on treatment in neurologic department of the regional clinical hospital №1 (Volgograd). The results of the research indicate big prevalence of acute back pain syndromes at men, chronic ones — at women. Thus, women show big need for a medicalization of the pain, but men ask for a medical care less then women. As a result men feel considerable diffculties at the description of nature of algetic disorder.Conclusion. It is necessary to take into consideration the revealed gender features of patients with a back pain in the process of planning therapeutic actions.
