Affective and cognitive disorders at men and women with discirculatory encephalopathy

Year: 2012, volume 8 Issue: №2 Pages: 570-574
Heading: Neurology Article type:
Authors: Yakovlev N.A., Abramenko Y.V.
Organization: Tver State Medical University of the Ministry of Russia
Summary:

The goal of the research was the comparative analysis of affective and cognitive disorders headache at women and men with dyscirculatory encephalopathy (DE), identify the connection of these disorders with the cerebral hemodynam-ics, neuroimaging of cinerea changes and BDNF in patients’ blood serum. 72 women (middle age 64,3±1,0) and 48 comparable in age and education men (middle age 65,0±1,2) with initiatory stages of dyscirculatory encephalopathy (DE) have been studied using comparative analysis of neuropsychological, sonographic and neuroimaging characteristics. The research revealed the predomination of cognitive impairment among men with (DE), especially attention, verbal coding and praxis disorders. Affective and insomnia disorders prevailed with women-patients. The results have shown possible links between low levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in blood plasma and the severity of depression and cognitive impairment at patients with (DE), especially at men. The received results may be important for individualization of therapeutic intervention.

Using color therapy at the patients, engaged intensive brainwork

Year: 2012, volume 8 Issue: №2 Pages: 567-570
Heading: Neurology Article type: Original article
Authors: Schumacher G.I., Yeliseyev V.V., Bykodarov A.V.
Organization: Altay state medical university
Summary:

At 49 patients, engaged intensive brainwork, clinically and by heart rate variability method investigates a condition of vegetative nervous system. Initially at the majority of patients normal parameters were recorded. To 30 patients of the basic group has been followed a course of color therapy with the purpose to study infuence of a color therapy of a vegetative regulation at the given patients. Green, yellow, orange and red colors were used. 19 persons have made a check-group. They were the patients who did not have a course of color therapy, the parameters of a condition of vegetative nervous system improved or were the same. In group of the control there was an attrition of a vegetative regulation. There is a long intensive intellectual activity exhausts a vegetative regulation related in the research. The 10-days course of color therapy authentically promotes maintenance of a condition of vegetative nervous system at a level of due functioning.

Summary:

Aim of the study: to evaluate the effciency of detection for HIV-infection in patients of neurological departments of Saratov. Materials and methods. We retrospectively analyzed 25 250 medical histories of patients hospitalized into neurological departments of Saratov hospitals between January 2007 and April 2012. Results. Blood samples of 2010 patients (7,96 %) were tested for the presence of HIV-antibodies. 37 patients were HIV-positive (1,84 % of examined patients and 0,15 % of the total number of patients). Conclusion. Increasing popularity and variety of clinical manifestations of HIV-infection requires the expansion of neurological patients whom serum test for antibodies against HIV is needed.

Held clinical-following systems survey of 122 patients with diaphyseal fractures of the shoulder bone. Results. At 57 after neurological examination and electromyographic diagnosed with post-traumatic neuropathy. Conclusion. As a result of research implemented its purpose. Revealed the frequency of post-traumatic neuropathy, as complications of fractures of the shoulder bone. Not always the defeat of the peripheral nerves of the manifest clinically, which complicates the diagnosis. Give a description of the locations and forms of damage, describes in detail the dynamics of the violations identifed in the course of treatment. Chronobiological aspects of changes in straight electro stimulation of spinal cord for treatment of neurological complications of cervical vertebrae osteochondro-sis

Year: 2012, volume 8 Issue: №2 Pages: 547-552
Heading: Neurology Article type: Original article
Authors: Chekhonatsky A.A., Korshunova G.A., Ovsyannikov D.M., Chekhonatsky V.A.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

Research Goal was to study infuence of treatment seance time, disease duration, and age on effcacy of straight electrostimulation of spinal cord. Materials. Biorhythmological characteristics of optimal time choice for electrostimula-tion séance were studied based on the sample of 32 patients with cervical osteochondrosis, who were subjected to paracentetic electrodes placement on posterior part of spinal cord. Results. Group of patients used morning séance, demonstrated change of clinical manifestations severity in accordance to JOA scale from 8,4±0,2 to 12,8±0,3 points that formed 46,6 %. Séance during daylight hours helped to decrease clinical manifestations severity by 25,1 %; evening séance promoted reduction by 22,1 %. In patients under 40 the average percentage of decrease of posttreatment neurological symptomatology consisted 83,6±3,6 %, in patients aged 60 and upwards this index was 74,6±3,2 %. Decrease of myelopathy severity was marked in the following way: 1 – 4 years of disease duration — by 73,6±4,8 %, more than 10 years — 63,7±2,1 %; estimation was carried out using JOA scale. Conclusion. Maximum effect of straight elec-trostimulation of spinal cord was observed in the morning hours. Clinical effect of isolated use of straight electrostimula-tion of spinal cord in the complex of treating neurological symptoms of cervical vertebrae osteochondrosis decreases while disease duration extends. Effect of electrostimulation reduces in accordance with patients’ age; maximum positive results of this method can be achieved in 1 – 4 years of disease duration.

Features of psychoemotional status of pregnant women with fetoplacental insuffciency

Year: 2012, volume 8 Issue: №2 Pages: 541-547
Heading: Neurology Article type: Original article
Authors: Chekhonatskaya M.L., Chernyshkova E.V., Chekhonatsky A.A., Kipchatova T.Yu.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

Research Goal was to study features of psychoemotional status of pregnant women with chronic fetoplacental insuffciency. Materials. 112 pregnant women with chronic fetoplacental insuffciency; 73 women with physiological course of pregnancy and delivery. Research of personal psychological characteristics was carried out by Minnesota multidimensional personal index (MMPI), adapted by F. B. Berezina and V. P Miroshnikova (1989). Personal and reactive anxiety was defned by method of self-appraisal according to D. Spilberger and Yu. L. Khalin. Results. Psychoveg-etative changes lead to unequal mobilization of various visceral systems, which can promote development of different complications of pregnancy course along with other factors, including fetoplacental insuffciency. Pregnant women with increased level of reactive anxiety more often have isolated decrease of uteroplacental blood fow; at hyperdepression combined disturbance of uteroplacental and fetoplacental blood fow was revealed; at hypochondria disturbance of uteroplacental and fetoplacental blood fow was also marked. Conclusion. Pregnant women with fetoplacental insuf-fciency demonstrated increase of anxiety and psychasthenia. As gestation period extended, patients with fetoplacental insuffciency marked high level of lability and reactivity of vegetative nervous system in combination with increased anxiety and presence of depression. Taking into consideration psychovegetative basis of occurrence of functional disturbances in the system mother-placenta-fetus, determination of personal psychoemotional features and state of vegetative nervous system, with future correction of reveled disturbances, should be obligatory.
