Etiopathogenic correlations between age-specific hypogonadism, osteoporosis and urolithiasis at men

Year: 2009, volume 5 Issue: №4 Pages: 604-607
Heading: Urology Article type: Original article
Authors: P.V. Glybochko, P.I. Shuster
Organization: Saratov State Medical University, Omsk State Medical Academy
Summary:

Study of age-specific hypogonadism correlation through osteopenia with urolithiasis at men is a new perspective direction uniting endocrinology and somatic urology. Besides comparison groups patients observed in the urological clinic of Omsk State Medical Academy have been included in one-stage continuous research. The method of stratification has allowed distinguishing two groups: group of men with urolithiasis - 140 patients and comparison group - 30 men without urolithiasis. Research methods have included questioning of patients by means of questionnaire AMS and international erectile function index, estimation of body weight index, biochemical indicators of blood serum, general testosterone, ionized calcium, densitometry. Occurrence of hypogonadism at men with urolithiasis has accounted 57,1 % (80 patients), in comparison group (men without urolithiasis) it has accounted 23,3 % (7 patients). Occurrence of decrease in mineral density of bone tissue has been statistically and significantly higher at patients with hypogonadism that proves interrelation of osteo-calcium metabolism disturbances and urolithiasis development. The 1st group has accounted 8,7 % of patients with osteoporosis, the 2nd group - 3,3 %. The 1st group has accounted 70,0% of patients with osteopenia, the 2nd group - 25,0%. Level of testosterone is associated with degree of expressiveness of decrease in mineral density of bone tissue. The lowest indices of testosterone have been at men with osteoporosis. Revealed correlations have shown adverse influence of hypogonadism not only on the sexual status of patient, but also on condition of osteo-calcium metabolism, disturbances of which may cause urolithiasis

First Experience Of Application Of High-Intensity Focused Ultrasonic Ablation (Hifu) In Prostate Cancer Treatment

Year: 2009, volume 5 Issue: №4 Pages: 599-603
Heading: Urology Article type: Original article
Authors: P.V. Glybochko, R.N. Fomkin, A.N. Ponukalin, B.I. Blumberg, A.V. Stativko
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The scientific article points out that 40 sessions of HIFU prostate ablation have been performed for estimation of clinical efficiency. Average frequency of influences presents 628±164 impulses; average volume of tissues subjected to influence during one procedure is 33,8±16,3 smi (132 %) of prostate volume; average operation time constitutes 150 minutes (from 90 to 200 minutes). During the operation no complications have been occurred. In the first days after the session of HIFU there was a peak of PSA increase and then during 1,5-3 months there was decrease to the lowest index. Minimal PSA level was reached in 10-12 weeks after treatment and it constituted from 0,04 till 1,1 ng\ml depending on the disease state. Reduction of prostate volume occurred in average from the 30th day of postoperative period and lasted for 6 months, reaching in average 50 % from initial volume. Postoperative period varied from 10 till 16 days and constituted in average 12±0,8 days. Thus application of high-intensity focused ultrasonic ablation allows treating successfully various stages of prostate cancer with minimal number of side-effects and makes possible the early estimation of treatment efficiency

Surgical Treatment Of Diaphysial Fractures Of Forearm Bones By Apparatus For External Fixation

Year: 2009, volume 5 Issue: №4 Pages: 597-598
Heading: Traumatology and Orthopedics Article type: Short message
Authors: V.P. Morozov, I.V. Voronin
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The aim of the given study is improvement of surgical treatment results of diaphysial fractures of forearm bones using suggested methods. The analysis of the treatment results of 120 patients with diaphysial fractures of forearm bones has been carried out. Methods of surgical treatment of diaphysial fractures of forearm bones using bar and spoke-bar apparatuses for external fixation have been applied to 60 patients. The results of the research have shown the significant decrease in postoperative complications and shortening of period patients stay in hospital. This allows to obtain good anatomical and functional results

Quality Indices Of Jaw Bone Tissue In Screening Diagnostics Of Parodontal Diseases

Year: 2009, volume 5 Issue: №4 Pages: 588-590
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Short message
Authors: V.M. Shcherbich, S.N. Moscovskiy, V.P. Konev, A.F. Sulimov
Organization: Omsk State Medical Academy
Summary:

The objective of the work is to develop and motivate screening methods of the estimation of paradontal tissues by digital X-ray study. The used methods are X-ray digital scene with estimation of bone tissue density in program Trophy 2000, clinically anatomical parallels of bone tissue density and their qualitative indices. Parallels between qualitative indices of bones of mandibular alveolar process and bone tissue density of these areas have been revealed. It is reasonable to carry out the estimation of bone tissue density indices for revealing early stages of parodontal pathology

Current Aspects Of Estimation Of Bioradical Imbalance Of Patients With Multiple Sclerosis In The City Of Bryansk (Oxidant Stress And Multiple Sclerosis As An Example Of The Bryansk Population)

Year: 2009, volume 5 Issue: №4 Pages: 584-587
Heading: Neurology Article type: Review
Authors: N.P. Gribova, I.V. Khudyakova
Organization: Smolensk State Medical Academy
Summary:

Article examines the role of free-radical oxidation of lipids and antioxidant systems in the development and characteristics of MS disease course. Oxidant-antiradical status was assessed in problem research laboratory of Clinical Biophysics, and antioxidant therapy Smolensk State Medical Academy with two direct methods of control - hemolumin-sention and radiospectroscopy and mathematical definition of the integral indexof the bioradical imbalance (coefficient K). Increase of degree EDSS was shown by activation of lipid peroxidation against background of tension in the antioxidant defense system, as well as free radical imbalance, which progressively intensified in direct proportion to rise on disease progression and the gravity of clinical manifestations of disease. Detected changes was determined by disease course and gravity of clinical manifestations of disease. Determined a direct correlation intensity of lipid peroxidation et antioxidant activity processes in patients with MS in ecologically unfavorable areas of the city of Bryansk

Heading: Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics Article type: Original article
Authors: I.A. Berezhnova, G.V. Korshunov.
Organization: Saratov Scientific Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics, Saratov Regional Hospital for Veterans of Wars
Summary:

Gerontological patients with ischemic heart disease which is not accompanied by such pathology as diabetes (SD) and osteoporosis (OP) with normal or increased body weight (females) generally have got «the highest potential of health». It has been proved by phase portraits and autoantibodies (AAb) and cytokines indices. Adaptative disturbances in these groups have been revealed at the age of 95 and 89 accordingly. The presence of such accompanying pathology as SD and OP causes dysadaptation. It is evident by means of autoantibodies (AAb) and cytokines indices and phase portraits of «temporary dependence of general cholesterol levels - its first derivative»

Organization: Saratov State Medical University, Saratov City Clinical Hospital № 2
Summary:

The research goal is to study vegetative regulation of heart rate in patients with chronic brucellosis of various clinical forms and activity degrees. 80 patients with chronic brucellosis have been examined. Predominant influence of sympathetic part of vegetative nervous system on regulation of heart rate in active form of chronic brucellosis and influence of parasympathetic part in inactive form have been revealed. Character of vegetative dysfunction depends on clinical form of the disease only in the case of active chronic brucellosis
