Summary:

The goal: to give a characteristic of the personality profile, a comparative evaluation of psychosomatic changes in patients with psoriasis and HIV-associated psoriasis. Materials and methods. The study involved 27 patients aged
18-65 years with psoriasis and HIV-associated psoriasis, and isolated comorbid mental disorders and patients without skin disease, formed the control group. The survey in all patients was conducted with clinical-dermatological method, supplemented by psychometric methods (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), the Hamilton Scale for Depression (HDRS)). Results. Analysis of the psychological status of patients with psoriasis demonstrated a high frequency of mental disorders in these patients.

Side effects of systemic retinoid therapy in patients with severe psoriasis

Year: 2013, volume 9 Issue: №3 Pages: 549-552
Heading: Dermatovenerology Article type: Original article
Authors: Slesarenko N.A., Bakulev A.L., Shabogina A.A., Platonova A.N., Utz S.R., Markina M.V., Shtoda U.M.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The aim: To determine the nature and frequency of side effects observed on acitretin therapy of patients with severe forms of psoriasis. Materials and methods. The study included 20 patients with generalized pustular psoriasis. Due to the inefficiency of the ongoing standard therapy, in addition to the plan of treatment, all patients were included systemic retinoid — acitretin (neotigazon) at a dose of 0,3-0,5 mg/kg per day. I control group consisted of patients with psoriasis receiving standard therapy without the use of systemic retinoids. II control group consisted of patients taking acitretin about keratosis. Results. In 18 patients of the main group noted the development of side effects, such as xerosis and nail fragility. In 14 patients of the main group and 3 patients of the II control group the results of urinalysis tests and Nechiporenko sample were detected by elevated levels of red blood cells and the development of hematuria. Conclusion. The study found that 17 patients had development of hematuria, which can be considered regarded as a side effect of acitretin therapy.

Individual burden of atopic dermatitis

Year: 2013, volume 9 Issue: №3 Pages: 543-548
Heading: Dermatovenerology Article type: Original article
Authors: Astafieva N.G., Yeryomina M.G., Yeryomin A.V.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The study presents the results of the psychosocial influence of atopic dermatitis as an essential component of the global burden disease. With the help of the disease-specific questionnaire «Dermatology specific quality of life» (DSQL) there had been found out that atopic dermatitis had a strong negative effect on the physical status, social functioning and mental well-being of the patient»s daily activity, self-perception, causing maladjustment of the respondents, especially in a period of acute symptoms. In addition to addressing the medical aspects of blood pressure an important role in reducing the burden of disease play an individual educational programs and psychological support for patients while creating partnerships «doctor-patient» relationship.

Summary:

The study aims the development and evaluation of the effectiveness of tissues polarization probe in vitro conditions. The method is based on local estimation of polarization parameters of forward scattered radiation. Matherials and methods. Widely accepted technique of skin surface stripping with adhesive materials was used in this work. We used stereomicroscope "MC-2 ZOOM", ОСТ "The OCS1300SS" and polarimeter "THORLABS TXP 5004" to receive information about stratum corneum of normal and diseased skin (psoriasis, lichen planus, discoid lupus erythematosus, alopecia, scabies, demodex)

Summary:

The study presents the results of a comparative analysis of atopic dermatitis influence on the major determinants of human life. With the help of the specific questionnaire «Dermatology specific quality of life» (DSQL) there had been revealed that atopic dermatitis had more evident effect on the physical status, social functioning, daily activity, the self-perception level and mental well-being in females, compared with males. Using a special «Women «s Health Questionnaire» (WHQ) there had been demonstrated that atopic dermatitis had a significant negative effect on sexual health and behavior of women, causing a distress state.

Summary:

Aims. Estimating of the efficiency of different immunosuppressive methods in patients with lichen planus and choice of tactics of treatment. Materials and methods. The study included 60 patients with disseminated forms of lichen planus in age from 10 to 60 years. Patients have received various types of immunosuppressive therapy (cyclosporine, hormones, PUVA therapy, UVA-1-therapy) and in accordance with this were divided into 4 groups. Results. Clinical resolution or significant improvement in short terms has been achieved mainly as a result of hormone therapy and physiotherapy methods, but not all of these methods are well tolerated in patients. Conclusion. The results showed that the enhancement of local treatment expense physiotherapeutic techniques (UVA-1 therapy), contributes to more rapid clinical resolution, and safer for the patient.
