INFLUENCE OF DOXORUBICIN ON ADHESIVE PROPERTIES OF E.COLI

Year: 2008, volume 4 Issue: №3 Pages: 33-36
Heading: Microbiology Article type: Original article
Authors: O.G. Shapoval
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

Influence ofantineoplastic drug doxorubicin and amikacin, the aminoglycoside family on adhesive activity of Escherichia coli was studied. Antimicrobialactivity(minimum inhibitory concentration-MIC) ofboth drugs against experimental strains using serial two-fold dilution method was determined. Susceptibility of E.coli to amikacin in the presence of Sand j MIC doxorubicin was studied. After 10 passages in beef-extract broth with constant and increasing doxorubicin concentrations in the presence of Sand j MIC doxorubicin, the adhesive activity of initial and passage variants according to theirability to absorb human erythrocytes 1(0) Rh+ was determined. Itwas observed that experimental strains were susceptible to amikacin (MIC 1,5-6,2 mkg/ml) butwere resistantto doxorubicin (MIC 1000 mkg/ml). Subinhibitory concentrations of this cytostatic (S and j MIC) raised the sensitivity of experimental strains to amikacin and differently effected on adhesive activity of passage variants of E.coli.

VASCULAR AND PARENCHYMATOUS INTERRELATIONS IN LIVER OF WHITE RATS AFTER TOTAL SPLENECTOMY

Year: 2008, volume 4 Issue: №3 Pages: 28-32
Heading: Macro- and Micromorphology Article type: Original article
Authors: N.V.Chernenko, S.I.Kataev
Organization: Ivanovo State Medical Academy
Summary:

The purpose of our study is to determine morphologic changes in microvascular bed of liver in 78 female and male white rats adults on the first, seventh, fourteenth, twenty-eighth days and third, sixth, ninth months after operation. The hepatic microcirculation was analyzed using light and scanning electron microscopy, histological methods, morphometry and statistics. The splenectomy influenses on microvascular bed and hepatocytes in early periods. Itcauses irreversible morphological changes of hepatic tissue in long-term periods after operation.

PHARMACOEPIDEMIOLOGICAL STUDY OF NON-STEROID ANTIINFLAMMATORY MEDICINE USE IN THE IN-PATIENT DEPARTMENT BEFORE AND AFTER THE FORMULAR SYSTEM ADOPTION

Year: 2008, volume 4 Issue: №1 Pages: 130-134
Heading: Clinical Pharmacology Article type: Original article
Authors: M.Sh. Khutsishvily, V.A. Baturin
Organization: Central Regional Hospital of Right-bank district RSO-Alania, Stavropol State Medical University
Summary:

We studied the use ofnon-steroid anti-inflammatorydrugs (NSAID) at the in-patient department ofcentral district hospitalwith the application ofDDD-techniques before and after the formular system adoption. After introduction of drug formular and treatment standards the use of NSAID was reduced; the physicians began to use modern drugs. Non-indicated and contraindicated NSAID were prescribed more seldom. Itwas determined that reduction of antihypertensive drugs efficiency in hypertensive patients was the main side effect of NSAID use. NSAID gastropathy occurred more seldom, and mainly in the patients receiving several NSAIDs simultaneously.

CORTIZOL LEVEL AND ADRENAL GLAND MORPHOLOGY UNDER INFLUENCE OF LOW-INTENSITY ELECTRO-MAGNETIC WAVES AND UNDER STRESS

Year: 2008, volume 4 Issue: №1 Pages: 127-130
Heading: Internal Diseases Article type: Original article
Authors: Ju.V. Polina, E.B. Rodzaevskaya, L.I. Naumova
Organization: Astrakhan State Medical University, Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

Low-intensify electro-magnetic waves (EMW) influence were studied at experiment. Certain EMI frequency regimes (they are transparent for the water and water-binding substances, and they are known as trans-resonance) can intensify the metabolic rate. In turn, certain EMW frequency regimes (they are not transparent for the water and the water-containing tissues, and they are called as non-resonance) can disturb the native electro-magnetic status of the cells and can lead to morphological changes in organs. Morphological changes in adrenal glands and cortizol level of 60 White Vistar rats (males) in serum under transparent EMW frequency regimes and non-transparent ones were examined. Transparent and non-transparent frequency regimes impact the various changes in adrenals. Cortizol level corresponds to morphologic conclusion. Stress modified EMW-effects in both variants - under resonance and non-resonance EMW frequency regimes in adrenal morphology and cortizol level.
