Summary:

The research goal is to investigate mechanisms of formation and course of herpetic stomatitis in patients with focal chronic tonsillitis. It has been established that patients with stomatitis and tonsillitis are able to develop local inflammatory reaction. It is accompanied by increase of infectious severity and activation of anti-inflammatory cytokines in fluid of parodontal pockets. It has been also proved that the cause factor of frequent and long relapses of stomatitis in patients with tonsillitis is due to the development of pathological process as a result of disbalance of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant system, endotoxicosis syndrome.

Hermetizing ability of the new obturating material for root canals «Real Seal» with «Resilon» technology

Year: 2012, volume 8 Issue: №1 Pages: 111-113
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Makedonova Y.A., Firsova I.V.
Organization: Volgograd State Medical University
Summary:

Simple, reliable and predictable obturation of root canals side by side with their cleaning and forming is an essential part of the endodontic treatment. The aim of this research is investigation of obturation density of root canals. Canals filled by means of lateral condensation of the new obturative system «Real Seal/Resilon» and by means of traditional method of canals obturation with the help of gutta-percha and sealer АН-plus. The results of the research proved a ligher hermetizing ability of the new experimental material «Real Seal» in comparison with obturation by means of gutta-percha pins. The obtained data reflects an objective picture and can be applied as a unique quality monitoring obturation of root canals.

Functioning of masticatory muscles in patients with fractures of lower jaw

Year: 2012, volume 8 Issue: №1 Pages: 108-111
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Lepilin А.V., Konnov V.V., Bagaryan Е.А., Batusov N.A.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

Research objective is to reveal functional changes of masticatory muscles in patients with fractures of lower jaw in combination with dentition abnormalities. Materials. 72 patients with such pathology have been examined. As a result of clinico-laboratory methods of research functional disturbances of masticatory muscles and their changes during the course of surgical and orthopaedic treatment have been revealed. It has been established that restoration of amplitude of biopotentials of masticatory muscles is possible at easy stage of musculo-articular dysfunction. Conclusion. At average and severe stages of dysfunction normal parameters may be reached.

According to severe social consequences schizophrenia takes the leading position in psychiatry. Course of schizophrenia is one of the main clinical predictors of clinical and social prognosis. The research has established that the clinical predictors determining the severity of non-cancerous condition of patients with schizophrenia are not obligate in the socialization of the patients.

The Detection of Allergic Rhinitis in Schoolchilden with Bronchial Asthma in Engels: Results of Retrospective Analysis

Year: 2012, volume 8 Issue: №1 Pages: 101-104
Heading: Pediatrics Article type: Original article
Authors: J.A. Tsareva
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The research goal of the study was to assess frequency of allergic rhinitis diagnostics in schoolchildren with bronchial asthma and to evaluate treatment approaches to combined allergic pathology of respiratory tract in clinical practice. Materials: Retrospective analysis of medical records of all asthmatic schoolchildren in-patients admitted in 2003-2010 has been performed. 240 patients have been included in the study. Results: 61.7% schoolchildren had symptoms suspicious of allergic rhinitis. Nevertheless, the diagnosis of allergic rhinitis was established only in 56 patients (23.3%). Obviously, children with allergic rhinitis or nasal symptoms had more severe clinical course of asthma. The latter required significantly more frequent and intensive use of prolonged broncholytics in order to enhance the anti-inflammatory treatment (inhalation corticosteroids) (p < 0.05). Conclusion: in schoolchildren with bronchial asthma allergic rhinitis is diagnosed inadequately (insufficiently). This fact does not allow to start treatment intime and ipso facto to improve the clinical course of bronchial asthma.
