Summary:

Investigations demonstrate that unlike the five-mark system of appreciating students knowledge, the rating system stimulates students to study the disciplines permanently within the limits of the educational standards and also allows to develop the capabilities to scientific research activities during the whole period of the high-school tuition. As a result the quality of the knowledge of the would-be graduates and consequently of the specialists enhances.
The positive experience of applying the rating control of the knowledge of students of the fourth and fifth year of tuition accumulated by the orthopedic stomatology chair of the Saratov state Medical University confirms that the rating which presents a system of accumulating conventional units of knowledge during the whole period of attestation, allows to evaluate objectively the knowledge of students studying the subject “Orthopedic Stomatology”.
