Summary:

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory disorder that occurs in approximately 0,5- 1% of the population. Patients with RA experience a shorter life expectancy than the general population. A large proportion of the excess mortality in persons with RA is related to cardiovascular disease. Ccardiovascular disease in RA may result from, accelerated atherosclerosis. The main risk factors for cardiovascular disease in the general population are the disorder of lipic profile. This article gives a review of the present data of the change in lipid profiles in RA at effects of anti-rheumatic treatment in the lipid profile in RA.
