Summary:
The investigation has revealed that stimulation of sympathetic nerve in the thoracic cavity in dogs provides no inhibition but increase in stomach contractions in most cases. This effect is raised with the blockage of a-and (3-adrenergic receptors and it is removed by blockage of 5-HT12-receptors. It has been stated that there are serotonergic fibers that increase stomach contractility
