Morphometrical variability of dental alveoli of mandible in adults

Summary:

Objective: to determine the morphometrical variability of dental alveoli bilaterally, depending on their position in the alveolar part of the mandible. Material and Methods. The object of the study is to certify 70 cranions with mandibles of middle-aged adults (21-60 years) and 30 isolated mandibles without gender-and age-related characteristics. The objects of the study were taken from scientific cranial fundamental museum collection of the Department of Human Anatomy. For the scientific research Craniometry method was used according to generally accepted craniology process parameters. Dental alveoli on both sides of the mandible were studied. Results. It was established that longitudinal diameter prevails at tooth alveoli of a canine, the first and second premolars, cross diameter on the same side of a jaw at the left — at alveoli of a medial incisor and the first premolar in comparison with its right side. At dental alveoli the left-sided depth is larger of the first molar, of the second molar — the right-sided is larger. Longitudinally cross diameter in the direction from alveoli of front teeth to back ones increases at each subsequent alveolus, since the minimum size at incisors and reaching the maximum size at alveoli of the first and second molars. The largest depth of tooth alveoli is determined at a canine, the first and second premolars. Conclusion. Results of the research of bilateral and individual variability of parameters of tooth cells may be used in practical stomatology.

Correlation of petrous bone convergence angle and slope of its walls with dimensional skull characteristics of human craniotypes

The aim. The purpose of this paper is to study the correlation between the angles of convergence and slope of the pyramids of the temporal bone and linear and angular parameters of the cranial depending on the basilar angle. Materials and Methods. Material study is based on 100 skulls of adult humans, divided into three craniotypes. The method of measurement were made craniotopometric these parameters with further calculation of average values of the calculated and the drafting of the correlation model. The results. Study of features of the correlation angle of convergence and the slope of the pyramids of the temporal bone and linear and angular parameters of the cranial showed varying in strength and direction of the relationship of each craniotypes. Conclusion. During the study, flexibasilar craniotypes installed close inverse relationship between: tilt the front surface of the pyramids and the long base of the skull; convergence angle of the pyramids and the length of posterior skull base, the long base of the skull to the posterior edge of the large aperture. In mediobasilar craniotypes study parameters showed mostly moderate and weak degree of multidirectional nature. For platibasilar craniotypes characterized by a close direct correlation between the convergence angle of the pyramids and the length of posterior skull base. Other dimensions of the pyramid of the temporal bone are subject to greater variability can be explained by complex, multi-directional factors shaping the internal structures of the skull base.

Comparative analysis of morphogeometric parameters of forward cranial pole depending on type of a skull basis

Summary:

The purpose of the work is comparison of parameters of a forward cranial pole depending on type of a skull basis. The research material contained 100 adult skulls divided into three craniotypes. The method of craniotopometry was used for measuring the parameters and further calculation of average value and their comparison among themselves. Results. The research helped to reveal that length of a forward cranial pole, length of a lateral part on the right and at the left, a corner f.c.-s-n prevail at flexibasilar craniotype. Conclusions. The width of a forward cranial pole, width of a lateral part on the right and at the left, a corner f.c.-n-g are more at platibasilar craniotype
