Clinical and epidemiological features of neuro-syphilis in Altai Territory (1999-2016)

Purpose: identification of tendencies of development of incidence of a neurosyphilis and structures of clinical forms of a late neurosyphilis in Altai Territory. Material and Methods. Materials of forms of the state statistical overseeing of 1999-2016 across Altai Territory, official statistical materials of the Department of monitoring, the analysis and strategic development of health care, Federal State Budgetary Institution Central Research and Development Institute of the Organization and Informatization of Health Care, contemporary records of medical institutions of Altai Territory are analysed. Results. The carried-out retrospective analysis of incidence of a lues in Altai Territory for the 18-year period of observations revealed tendencies to decrease in primary incidence of a lues with simultaneous increase in structure of late forms, including a late neurosyphilis that completely confirmed the model of development of epidemic process constructed earlier by authors. In structure of forms of a late neurosyphilis without symptomless neurosyphilis, symptomless meningitis and meningovascular forms of neurosyphilis came to light more often. Conclusion. The clinical picture of late forms of a neurosyphilis is mainly without symptoms character now. Among demonstrative forms the meningovascular forms as a predictor of cerebrovascular pathology at working-age is registered more often.

Epidemiological trends of neurosyphilis in Saratov region

The aim of the article is studying the epidemiological trends of neurosyphilis in Saratov region between 1993 and 2014. Material and methods. The forms of state statistical inquiry in Saratov region have been studied. Results. The incidence of syphilis and increase the incidence of neurosyphilis in Saratov region was confirmed. Late manifest forms were predominant. Conclusion. Neurosyphilis is not a rare disease of the nervous system in Saratov region in the past years. Closer cooperation between neurologists and dermatologists is needed.

Psychological defense mechanisms in patients with syphilis at different stages of the disease

Purpose: the study of psychological defense mechanisms in patients with syphilis at different stages of the disease. Material and methods. We used questionnaire Plutchik-Kellerman-Comte "life style Index". The study involved 257 people (118 women (46%) and 139 men (54%)) aged 18 to 67 years (mean age — 23,5±8,9years). Results. In patients with primary syphilis primary mecha-protection scheme is "denying"; secondary syphilis of skin and mucus-purity membranes— "replacement"; syphilis latent early — "projection"; in patients with late syphilis — intellectualization. Thus, in patients with late forms of syphilis is dominated by more Mature mechanisms of protection (projection, rationalization). Patients with early forms use more primitive mechanisms (denial, substitution). Conclusion. The obtained data may be useful in the choice of methods of psychotherapy, the formation of patients more realistic (ADAP-tive) installations for the treatment, restoration of family and other social relations, the prevention of distress and improving the quality of life of patients.

Epidemiology of neurosyphilis in the Saratov region

The research goal is to evaluate the epidemiology of syphilis and neurosyphilis in the Saratov region science 1994 till 2010. Materials and methods: The forms of statistical inquiry in the Saratov region have been studied. The results of syphilis blood tests were examined in neurological departments of Saratov hospitals. Results: The tendency to reduction of syphilis morbidity was revealed in the Saratov region while the incidence of neurosyphilis increased. Severe forms of symptomatic neurosyphilis were predominant. In spite of increasing number of positive syphilis serological tests in neurological hospitals of Saratov the detection of neurosyphilis among neurological patients remained low. Conclusion: Neurosyphilis has become a common disease in the Saratov region. The issues of diagnostics and treatment of neurosyphilis should be considered by close cooperation between dermatologists and neurologists
