Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

Endodontic treatment is considered to be one of the most common procedures in modern dentistry, which also leads to increase of the complications. Objective: to establish the anthropometric characteristics of the structure of the facial skull and maxillary sinus, determining the development of complications of the endodontic treatment of upper jaw. Materials and methods. Measurements have been performed on 105 three-dimensional CT scan of the head, 75 have been in the control group, 30 cases have got foreign bodies of the maxillary sinuses on the CT. Results. We have established the correlation between obtained anthropometrical parameters such as height and width of the face with the type of maxillary sinus pneumatization, also we have studied the critical thickness of the bone plate over the tooth root, which is the main predisposing factor in the development of complications. Conclusion. It is possible to form risk groups according to the type of the structure of the front-skeleton, for additional studies of further endodontic interventions that may reduce their frequency.

Prosthetic stomatitis with removable dentures

Year: 2012, volume 8 Issue: №2 Pages: 297-299
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Googe L.A., Rozalieva Yu.Yu.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The Research Objective: To study patients with prosthetic stomatitis, who use the removable laminar dentures. Materials: The consultations and treatment of 79 patients aged 47-65 years have been conducted. The patients have been divided into two clinical groups. The first clinical group (39 persons) with the performance of immediate prosthet-ics; the second control clinical group (40 persons) — the permanent dentures were produced without the preliminary instruction. Results: All the patients, having the laminar dentures without the preliminary use of immediate constructions of dentures, in spite of repeated correction of them, have had changes of dentures and transitory fold. Patients have been exposed to prosthetic stomatitis of different etiology (without trauma); the single-shot or multiple correction of dentures by the method of rebasing with using of cold cure plastics has been made. Conclusion: Structural and functional changes of dentition during the prosthetic stomatitis lead to disorders, associated by the mucositis. Use of the term of «prosthetic stomatitis» reflects etiological and pathogenetic component of changes in the denture-supporting tissues

Year: 2012, volume 8 Issue: №2 Pages: 293-297
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Eremin O.V., Lepilin A.V., Kozlova I.V., Myalina Yu.N.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

Objective: To study clinical-morphological characteristics of parodontal diseases, markers of density of bone tissue and to define rational approaches to prosthetics of defects of dentitions in patients with colon diseases. Materials and methods: 55 patients with ulcerative colitis, even 80 with the syndrome of the irritable bowel syndrome with defects of dentitions, have been applied metallic, cement prostheses and having prostheses on the intraosseous of implants. Markers of bone metabolism in the blood serum and in the oral liquid, the proliferating activity of the epitheliocytes of periodontium have been evaluated according to the morphometric indices of the markers of the proliferation of ki-67, cyclein D1, the inhibitor of apoptosis of bcl-2 have been inspected. Results: Connection of intensity of periodontitis with the stage of colon disease has been stated. Metallic dental prostheses have been served as additional risk factors of development of parodontal diseases in patients with ulcerative colitis. Conclusion: The diagnostic value of the markers of proliferation has been determined in diagnostics of parodontal disease during the application of prostheses from different materials.

Herpetic stomatitis development mechanism in patients with tonsillitis

Year: 2012, volume 8 Issue: №1 Pages: 116-118
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Khlamova O.G., Shuldyakov А.А., Lepilin A.V., Satarova S.A.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University, Engels Stomatological Polyclinic № 1
Summary:

The research goal is to investigate mechanisms of formation and course of herpetic stomatitis in patients with focal chronic tonsillitis. It has been established that patients with stomatitis and tonsillitis are able to develop local inflammatory reaction. It is accompanied by increase of infectious severity and activation of anti-inflammatory cytokines in fluid of parodontal pockets. It has been also proved that the cause factor of frequent and long relapses of stomatitis in patients with tonsillitis is due to the development of pathological process as a result of disbalance of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant system, endotoxicosis syndrome.
