Summary:

The objective: the study analyses the features of spontaneous growth of hydroxyapatite crystals on dentinal substrate using (by the use of) artificially grown Zn-hydroxyapatite combined with ultrasonic treatment. Material and Methods. A dynamic study of dentinal substrate structure was conducted in a certain time interval after standard primary surface treatment of dentin micro-sections, divided into control and experimental groups. Dentin surfaces in the second group were covered by finely dispersed Zn-hydroxyapatite in combination with ultrasonic treatment. The investigation was performed by use of analytical complex based on scanning electron microscope with high resolution SEM Mira II LMU (Tescan) and energy dispersive analysis system. Results. There were revealed the structural changes of dentinal substrate surface overtime period due to directional growth of Zn-hydroxyapatite crystals. Conclusion. The conducted study showed the possibility of formation of the stable structures in the dentinal substrate when using Zn-hydroxyapatite in combination with ultrasonic treatment.

Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Eremina N.V., Ismailova О.А., Strukov V.I., Kirillova T.V.,
Organization: Penza Institute for Advanced Training of Physicians
Summary:

The aim: to study clinical and X-ray specifics of chronic generalized periodontitis of women during a postmenopaus-al period determined by mineral bone density. Material and Methods. 80 women having chronic generalized periodontitis during a postmenopausal period were examined using clinical and X-ray research. Material of bone density was taken into consideration. Results. Decrease of hygienic indices of women at postmenopausal period has been found. It depends on the degree of severity of chronic generalized periodontitis. There was a reverse connection of periodon-tal index and mineral density of bone tissues in the 1-st group: — 0.9 (p<0.05), in the 2-nd group: — 0.5 (p<0.05), in the 3-rd group: — 0.79 (p<0.05). Cone-beam computer tomography made possible to find out the initial signs of edge osteoporosis of interdental partitions at the light degree of chronic generalized periodontitis and signs of spot and homogenous osteoporosis of gum bones, osteoporosis of interdental partitions with osteolysis at mild and severe degrees of severity. Conclusion. The clinical researches with cone-beam computer tomography and densitometry have revealed the exact data on the condition of bone tissues. The results have given an opportunity to plan osteotropic therapy and to control the dynamics of the process correctly.

Heading: Stomatology Article type: Review
Authors: Konnov V.V., Arutyunyan M.R.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The article is devoted to the methods of orthopedic treatment of dentition defects. To restore the functionality and individual aesthetic standards of dental system, with different types of partial loss of teeth, depending on the anatomical and topographical conditions, various kinds of dental prosthesis designs are used in the oral cavity: non-removable (bridges, cantilever, adhesive) dentures and removable (laminar and clasp dental) prostheses, as well as their combinations.

Year: 2016, volume 12 Issue: №1 Pages: 49-51
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Turusova Е.М., Bulkina N.V.
Organization:
Summary:

The aim is to study the effect of oral pathologies in the quality of life of patients, depending on the psychological characteristics of the individual. Material and Methods. The study involved 100 patients with included dentition defects and chronic generalized periodontitis. The index PMA, PI and hygiene index of Greene — Vermillion were identified in all patients. To assess the quality of life we used the OHIP-14 questionnaire. To assess the psychotype we used the modification of the questionnaire, developed in 2005, St. Petersburg. Results. There is a dependence of changes in the quality of life of dental patients with various psychotypes. Conclusion. Patients with a variety of personality types react differently to oral health, and it should be taken into account when choosing the tactics of conduct with patient data, as well as the choice of treatment and at all the stages of treatment.

Ontogenesis of the alveolar walls of the tooth germ according to orthopantomography

Year: 2015, volume 11 Issue: №4 Pages: 561-565
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Okushko M.R., Suetenkov D.E., Chependyuk Т.А.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University, Pridnestrovian State University n.a. T. G. Shevchenko
Summary:

Objective: to identify changes of the configuration and size of the walls of the alveolar stages of ontogenesis. Materials and Methods. Orthopantomograms studied 196 children aged 5 to 12 years. We used visual and morphometric methods. Results. The data on the three diameters of the dental alveoli (proximal, middle and distal) has been presented, under which subsequently the main stages of age transformation have been highlighted. Conclusion. Transformation of the alveolar walls radiologically determined and its advancing character in relation to the macroprocesses in the germ tooth have made it possible to consider alveolus as one of the leading biological tools of odontogenesis.

Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Zelenova A.V., Bulkina N.V., Olenko E.S., Tokmakova E.V.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The aim: to increase the efficiency of treatment of patients with rapidly progressive periodontitis (RPP) using electromagnetic radiation at terahertz frequencies of molecular spectrum of radiation and absorption of nitric oxide 150,176-150,664 GHz. Material and methods. The study involved 50 patients with RPP, which according to the method of therapy were divided into 2 groups: group 1 included patients receiving conventional therapy, group 2 consisted of patients who, along with traditional therapy received EHF-therapy device "Orbit" YAKUL.941526.001. The control group consisted of 20 healthy subjects with intact periodontium. For the non-invasive study of tissue blood flow in the periodontal tissue Doppler ultrasound was used MiniMax-Doppler-Phono. The study of the microvasculature of periodontitis has been conducted. To determine the reactivity of microvascular periodontal tissue reflex functional tests on the indirect effect of the cold were performed. Results. Reductions achieved values of periodontal indices, especially important index PMA, a significant increase in the linear blood flow indices, decreased pulse pressure gradient and the index followed appropriate reduction to their cold test. Conclusion. The proposed complex therapy can accelerate the relief of inflammation in the periodontal tissues of the complex, to improve the elastic properties of blood vessels, reduce their tone and restore microcirculation in periodontal tissues.

Year: 2015, volume 11 Issue: №2 Pages: 168-173
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Zakharova N.B., Lepilin A.V., Vorobjev D.V., Erokina N.L., Bakhteeva G.R.
Organization: Medical Clinic "Medstom", Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The aim: to prove the necessity of professional oral hygiene before the fixation of permanent orthodontic equipment in individuals with dental and facial anomalies based on the study of biomarkers of gingival fluid. Materials and Methods: Clinical, cytological examination and gingival fluid test on cytokine levels in 80 patients. Results: In patients with dentofacial anomalies observed decline in hygiene index, and increase the content of gingival fluid neutrophils and degenerative epithelial cells. It is accompanied by an increase in the concentration of the main group of pro-inflammatory and osteogenic cytokines, growth factors. Conclusion: Preliminary conducting professional oral hygiene to orthodontic treatment in patients with dentofacial anomalies leads to the conservation values of satisfactory hygienic indices of the mouth. In this case, the increase in the content of gingival fluid neutrophils and degenerative epithelial cells, with increased concentrations of the main group of pro-inflammatory and osteogenic cytokines has been defined insignificant.
