Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Ostrovskaya L.Yu., Zakharova N.B., Mogila А.Р., Katkhanova L.S., Akulova E.V., Popykhova E.B.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

Purpose: To establish diagnostic value of the increased content of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-8, MCP-1, RAIL) in gingival fluid at patients with a chronic periodontal disease. Material and Methods: 60 patients with inflammatory periodontal diseases were surveyed. The concentration of the studied cytokines in gingival fluid has been defined. Results: At a periodontal disease the increased level of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines in gingival fluid has been noted. Conclusion: Definition of the MCP-1 and IL-8 levels in gingival fluid can be used as a criterion of the prognosis of the severity of inflammatory and destructive processes in the periodontal tissues.

The use of cytological studies of periodontal pockets of periodontitis patients with fractures of the mandible to select the method of immobilization

Year: 2011, volume 7 Issue: №4 Pages: 905-909

Summary:

The purpose of the study: rationale for selecting the method of immobilization of bone fragments of the mandible in patients with fractures, combined with chronic generalized periodontitis based on clinical and cytomorphological data. Materials and methods. Were examined 60 patients with mandibular fractures in combination with chronic generalized periodontitis who underwent immobilization of the mandible in various ways. Patients underwent clinical examination and conventional cytomorphological examination of the contents of periodontal pockets. As a result, found that patients in the orthopedic treatment of the dynamics observed progression of inflammatory-destructive processes. When immobilization of the mandible with intermaxillary fixation titanium screws and the surgical method of treating inflammation at the level of periodontal pockets cropped. Conclusion. Given the smaller number of inflammatory complications of mandibular fractures in patients who have used the maxillary fixation screws in titanium, this is the best

Determining the Response of Periodontal Teeth is Limited to Defects in the Integrity of the Dentition Loading

Year: 2011, volume 7 Issue: №1 Pages: 315-316
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Short message
Authors: Kopytov А.А.
Organization: Belgorod State University
Summary:

Stability of the tooth characterizes its ability to perceive occlusal load. As the footprint specific loading functioning periodontium increases. To neutralize the impact of the load component of periodontitis should restore the integrity of the dentition

Influence of Polykatan in a gel form in combination with lincomicine on microbiological characteristics of periodontal tissues in inflammatory periodontal disease treatment

Year: 2011, volume 7 Issue: №1 Pages: 309-311
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Short message
Authors: Matveeva N.I., Temkin E.S., Salyamov K.Y., Sisuev B.B.
Organization: Volgograd State Medical University
Summary:

The purpose of the research is to evaluate the comparative microbiological efficiency of Polykatan in a gel form in combination with lincomicine 1% in inflammatory periodontal disease treatment. A modified gel Polykatan understudy was applied in association with the conventional therapeutic pattern in patients with chronic inflammatory periodontal disease. The medical form of gel provides long-term persistence in oral cavity and has positive action on microorganism's changing of the oral cavity

Clinical, psychophysiological and psychological aspects of risk factors of periodontal disease development in clinically healthy persons

Year: 2009, volume 5 Issue: №4 Pages: 516-520
Heading: Physiology and Pathophysiology Article type: Original article

Summary:

The research goal is to determine risk factors of periodontal disease development, psychophysiological personal types and their interrelations in clinically healthy persons. 47 first-year cadets of St.-Petersburg Military School of radio electronics have been examined. This group of respondents has been chosen by presence of such social stressor as change of place of living (97,9% cadets have arrived in St.-Petersburg from other cities and republics of the Russian Federation) and strict disciplinary conditions. The research has revealed a low level of oral hygiene, cases of mild gingivitis in most respondents. The general mental state of group under study is characterized by raised level of personal anxiety and low indices of reactive anxiety. The examined group has demonstrated anxiety, tension, indecision and lowered stress stability. Clinically healthy persons are more liable to develop inflammatory and inflammatory-destructive periodontal diseases. It was possible to determine psychophysiological features correlated with physiological parameters of risk degree of periodontal diseases. It may have a great significance in defining of periodontal disease etiology and pathogenesis
