The review is devoted to antibiotic prophylaxis of infectious complications in burns. Severe burn injury often results in death. Infectious complications are the most common cause of mortality in these patients. Systemic antibiotic prophylaxis is actively used in practical medicine, but is not recommended by national and international clinical guidelines for the treatment of patients affected by burns. The principles of such prevention have not been developed yet. The data of studies of systemic antibiotic prophylaxis are inconsistent. A number of studies confirm the rationality of use of systemic antibiotic prophylaxis in persons on artificial ventilation with severe burns. This approach has been reported to reduce mortality and incidences of pneumonia significantly. There are evidences of perioperative antibiotic prophylaxis effectiveness in some surgical procedures associated with burn injury. Studies also demonstrate antibiotic prophylaxis and intestine decontamination combination effectiveness in preventing from complications in burn patients. Besides antibiotic prophylaxis, other pharmacological approaches currently are being developed in order to reduce the incidence of infectious complications in burns. Preclinical studies have shown the effectiveness of statins and topical probiotics in the prevention of burn sepsis in the experiment. The development and implication of early diagnostic methods for infectious complications is one another possible way to prevent severe infections in patients with burn injury.

Aim: to evaluate the correlations between the frequency of the infectious complications of abdominal surgery and the level of immune response to the surgery. Material and methods. The study has been conducted on 53 patients, who were undergone to pancreaticoduodenal resection with lymphadenectomy. Concentrations of interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-8 (IL-8) in blood serum were studied. Results. The concentrations of IL-8 were higher in patients with complications compared to those without complications. No statistically significant differences in the concentrations of IL-4 were revealed between the studied groups of patients. Conclusion. Concentrations of pro-and anti-inflammatory cytokines can be used to assess the risk of postoperative complications.

The aim of the study was to improve management of the postoperative period in patients with genital prolapse after surgery. Methods. Survey of 57 patients, which, depending on the characteristics of the postoperative period were divided into 2 groups: 22 patients received conventional treatment methods vagina seams, in complex treatment of 35 patients was included depantol. The effectiveness of inclusion depantol was control by clinical and laboratory (analysis of blood, vaginal discharge) evidence. Results. Clinical and laboratory evidence of the effectiveness of inclusion depantol, which has antiseptic and stimulating regenerative processes, in the complex of therapeutic measures, reflected in the absence of infectious complications in patients of the main group and reducing lengths of stay in hospital. Conclusions. A higher efficiency of the new method is proved

Prophylaxis of infection in the case of burns includes a number of surgical and antiepidemic precautions, including the use of antibiotics. Unfortunately, antibiotics are often causing allergic reactions, dysbacteriosis and contribute to appearance of antibiotic resistant strains of microorganisms. In this article the results of treating of 190 patients with thermal burns are described. In order to prevent pyoinflammatory complications, 100 patients from the total of 190 ones were given the medicine “Sporobacterin fluidum” and 90 patints of the same 190 ones were given antibiotics. The medical effect of “Sporobacterin fluidum” is based on translocation of Bacillus subtilis from the bowels into the wound when they produce antibiotics, enzymes, immunomodulator.
It is found out that derangements, which appear after burns lead to dysfunction of all organs and systems, buildup of intoxication and change of the composition of biocenose of intestines. The research results prove that “Sporobacterin fluidum” is an effective medicine for prophylaxis of infectious complications and contributed to correction of biocenose of intestines, reduction intoxication and cutting down the period of wound healing and period of in-patient treatment of burnt.

It was found that the development of infectious complications of necrotizing pancreatitis is accompanied by the increase in circulating endothelial cells number, procalcitonin level and number of SIRS criteria. These parameters can be used for early detection and prediction.

Problems in diagnostics and therapy of pus complications of injury impair of abdominal organs and retroperitoneum are an actual section of abdominal surgery.
Nowadays significant improving indication of timely patient hospitalization to in-patient departments have not been received, asa resultofthat, part of complications tends to rise.
In this article, frequency and structures of septic complications connected with damaged abdominal organ impairments.
Out of 51 patients with purulent complications of injury impairments of abdominal organs and retroperitoneum, 5 patients have died. Fatal cases accounted 9.8%. In the case of diffuse peritonitis, deaths account 18%.
The consideration must be given for further organization measures, directed to improve the therapy process. Also, introducing modern diagnostics technologies, and therapy of complications.
