Summary:

The histotypic structure of nodular growths has been morphologically studied after the primary surgery and reinter-vention. The revealed difference may indicate either the new thyroid tissue formation or the initial diagnosis error and inadequate surgery. Histological changes of the thyroid gland are caused by both the external (surgery, anthropogenic influence) and internal (reparative processes, dystrophic changes, hormone biosynthesis disturbance) factors, including iodine metabolism. It results in postoperative goiter development
